Collaboration Guide

Discussion & Brainstorming
2:55-3:30 pm

Within this collaboration time, staff will be organized in rooms by grade level team or curricular area. If your large group would like to break into smaller groups, by building for example, please feel free to do so. You may use any available room, but please return the technology to the appropriate location.

Laptops - A cart of computers should be available in the room. Please return the devices to the appropriate location at the end of day and plug them in for charging. Logging on using your district id might be time consuming, so you might want to use the Tech userid.

To facilitate purposeful sharing & brainstorming -use the norms from your professional learning communities.

Purposes of the Session

  • Share learning from today's sessions
  • Brainstorm and plan projects that align with the curriculum, integrate the use of technology, and support the D41 Learner Characteristics.

Non-Purposes of the Session

  • Sharing lessons/projects that do not integrate technology
  • Focusing on technology related roadblocks

Roles Within the Group:

  • Facilitator-review the norms, purpose/non-purpose and help facilitate conversation (if needed).
  • Member-group members are expected to participate and follow the norms for the session.

Suggested Guiding Questions:

  • Reflect on Will Richardson’s presentation this morning. What information did he share that you found thought-provoking? How does his philosophy help you to plan changes for your classroom or personal growth?
  • When and how will you act on the new information you learned today?
  • What were the “aha” moments today?

*** Feel free to use the laptops to fill out the PDT Survey and NETS survey before you leave.
